Paul’s Pancake Parlor: Delicious

Colleen and I have driven past Paul’s Pancake Parlor ever since we moved to Missoula, but have yet to dine in till today. We have meant to go, but it was just one of those things that never ended up happening. Let me tell you. Paul’s Pancake Parlor will defiantly be happening again.

Pauls Pancake Parlor: Delicious

Colleen ordered eggs benedict, and I went with chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. Both of our meals were fantastic. Some of the best pancakes I’ve tasted. Colleen is in love with the eggs benedict and is already talking about the next time she will be eating them. Paul’s Pancake Parlor is our new favorite breakfast restaurant.

Ferentino’s Deep Dish

Ferentinos Deep Dish

One of the best things about Chicago, and one of the worst about living in Montana is the pizza. We LOVE our deep dish, but it is not found anywhere in Montana. Even regular pizza is extremely sub par out west when you’ve been spoiled your whole life.

Every time we visit home, having some deep dish pizza is a must now! My favorite and what I grew up with is from Ferentino’s. Tonight we had sausage and pepperoni on one, and a bunch of veggies on the other. You gotta eat it with a fork and knife just to get the right amount of ooey gooey goodness. Like always it left us full and satisfied.

Cafe Zydeco

Missoula’s restaurant selection continues to grow! New Cafe Zydeco on Brooks is definitely a great addition! Cajun in Missoula? Heck yeah! RJ and I were a little nervous to get something unique the first time around, so we stuck with some classics. RJ got the BBQ pulled pork po-boy which was delicious! I got the reuben, one of the bests I’ve ever had! Highly recommend trying this place out- home cooked goodness, and not just the usual American food found all over Missoula.

Simms Steakhouse: Treat Yourself 2012

It was our last night in Colorado and our five month anniversary so we decided to treat ourselves to a nice steak dinner. From my aunts advice we headed over to Simms Steakhouse in Denver, CO. When we arrived we were taken back by how nice it was. It was definitely the fanciest restaurant we’ve ever been to. We were greeted with a complimentary valet parking. Which also happened to be my first valet parking experience. We walk in and the atmosphere is very relaxed and beautiful. From our table, and all the others, there was an unbelievable view of the Denver skyline. It was beautiful. The wait staff did everything for you and were very helpful. We each received a puffy bread in a dish with honey butter. Then we got the Chips & Strings, homemade potato chips, onion strings, and some lightly fried jalapenos. They were so good, the chips and onions were fried to perfection. We each ordered a 10oz Filet Mignon, mine medium rare, and Colleen’s was medium. They were the biggest steaks I have ever seen. The wait staff had us cut into the steak to make sure they were cooked perfectly, which they were. I have never had a medium rare steak before, and would hardly eat steaks when going out to eat, but the first bite had me rethink all my past decisions. It was unbelievable. The steak melted in our mouths and was delicious until the very end. I now understand why people spend this amount of money on steak. The whole meal was fabulous. We left feeling like kings in a car we didn’t even have to walk to. It was so perfect that it was on our anniversary, it made the night that much more special. It was a night we’ll never forget.

Chipotle Burritos and Cheesecake: Oh What a Pair

Let me just start off by saying there is no Chipotle in Missoula. We both have not eaten there since living in Chicago, and while driving to red lobster we passed one and instantly knew we needed to eat it the next day. We woke up and shortly after letting the dogs out, and headed to Chipotle.  I ended up getting a chicken fajita burrito and Colleen got a barbacoa burrito bowl. We also grabbed some chips and guacamole to eat on the side. The food was exactly how we remembered, so delicious. After devouring our burritos we decided to head to Panino Sandwich and Bakery in Golden, CO again to get some more cheesecake. The last time we were there we forgot to use our golden ticket, which we got from the Coors brewery tour and have a chance to win money or a percent off at a local restaurant. This time we remembered though. Instead of getting the mini rectangle cheesecakes, we decided to try the circle premium cheesecakes and Colleen wanted a coffee. With our golden ticket in hand we scratched and it won $10! We were pretty excited cause of course no one ever wins those things. We ended up getting all the cheesecake and coffee for around $6. Dolla dolla bills ya’ll.
